Lee-on-the-Solent Community Association

The Lee-on-the-Solent Community Association sits on Twyford Drive as a registered charity focused on supporting the local area. Formed to promote community benefits, it advances education and offers recreation spaces for inhabitants in the neighbourhood. Built through fundraising efforts back in 1982, the centre runs as a multi-purpose venue with a members’ social club at its core.

Inside, the social club includes a lounge bar and a family room where children can join in. Food gets served every day, covering hot meals that draw people in for lunch or evenings out. The bar hosts a happy hour from 4 to 6 PM, adding to the draw for casual visits. Sky Sports screens major matches, turning the space into a spot for watching games together.

Live entertainment features regularly, with music nights on Fridays and Saturdays, plus draws for meat raffles and spirits. The atmosphere stays lively yet welcoming, with members often pitching in on local projects.

Membership comes in two forms: associate and full, giving access to the club areas and perks like the bar. For those not joining, the association rents out rooms for various uses.

A large function hall suits bigger gatherings, while smaller activity and committee rooms work for meetings or classes. These spaces host everything from business conferences to private parties, making the centre versatile for different needs.

Events keep the calendar busy. Bingo sessions run weekly, with books starting at set times for cash prizes. The association organises community bashes, such as the Party in the Park, encouraging locals to join in outdoor fun. Live acts have included bands like British Racing Green, Jack Rabbit and Top Draw in past years, showing a tradition of music evenings.

More recent happenings feature birthday celebrations for groups, with ticketed entry for themed nights. The charity side ensures activities align with educational and leisure goals, with financial reports up to date for the year ending September 2024.
